Ethio Newsflash (Addis Ababa) More than a hundred deportees from airports across the U.S are stuck at the Addis Ababa Bole International Airport, sources have told Ethio Newsflash. The deportees that were sent back to Ethiopia after U.S President Trump banned entry to U.S from seven countries are currently staying at the departure terminal of Bole Airport.
It is not yet clear why they were sent back to Ethiopia but they are said to be of Somali, Sudanese and Yemeni origin.
Ethio Newsflash asked Ethiopia’s Foreign Minister, Dr. Workineh Gebyehu, on Tuesday about the deportation but he said he doesn’t have any information.
We have understood that Simon Sandoval-Moshenberg, representing two Yemeni brothers who were turned away at Washington’s Dulles International Airport and are currently stuck in Addis Ababa, is filing charges against the U.S government because the two were forced to sign a document relinquishing their green cards.
“I am informed that there are a ton of returnees from airports all over the US, at Addis Ababa Intl, and the Ethiopian government is telling them they have only one more day to stay before it kicks them all out back to the countries they originally came from,” Simon Sandoval-Moshenberg said.
